The panel Israeli buyers ask us for
The core of our Israel trade is the calibrated Okoume-face panel: an E1 emission-class board with an Okoume face on a eucalyptus core, sanded and calibrated to a consistent thickness across the sheet. A 16 mm panel weighs about 32 kg, light enough to keep handling and freight sensible, stiff enough for furniture and joinery work. We supply it bare or HPL-laminated.
Okoume is a face veneer, not a grade. The same face goes onto our MR packing plywood (IS 303) and onto BWR boards where the job needs better moisture resistance. If your customers know Okoume from other origins, our species profile covers what the timber is and how it behaves. Full specifications sit on the Okoume plywood page.
Our Israel terms: FOB Cochin, in USD
Every quote we issue for Israel is FOB Cochin. We do not quote CIF Ashdod or CIF Haifa. You, or your forwarder, book the ocean freight and marine insurance; we manufacture, pack, complete Indian export clearance and deliver the goods on board your nominated vessel at Cochin Port. Prices are in US dollars.
The reasoning is practical. Israeli importers almost always hold their own freight arrangements on the India lane and read its current conditions better than a mill in Kerala can. FOB keeps our number a clean panel price you can compare line by line against any other origin.
Payment terms are 50% advance with the balance before dispatch for standard products, and 100% advance for custom production. Payment is by bank transfer (T/T).

ISPM-15, packing and container loading
Plywood panels are exempt from ISPM-15. As engineered wood they need no heat-treatment stamp and no fumigation certificate, which removes one document, one cost and one common hold-up at the port of discharge. Where a shipment does include solid wood, pallets or crating, that material goes through an ISPM-15-compliant process. If your customs broker raises it, our note on heat treatment versus methyl bromide explains the distinction.
Panels are palletised and strapped for sea transit. Dense plywood weighs out before it cubes out, so we plan each 40 ft container against the road weight limit at your end, not just the container's own rating, and confirm the exact sheet count with the quote.
Samples and the first order
Samples are available and chargeable. Most first-time buyers take a sample before a trial container: check the Okoume face, the calibration and the core, then commit.
The sequence is short. Send your specification (thickness, size, bare or laminated, quantity, and Ashdod or Haifa as discharge port) to sales@cochinwood.in or WhatsApp +91 95674 10175. A FOB Cochin quote in USD comes back within one business day. On confirmation we issue a proforma invoice; production starts against the advance and goods move to the port once the balance clears. Every panel ships under our material guarantee: what arrives matches the specification sheet you quoted from.
